RTA is a government agency in the State of Tennessee that provides convenient and efficient transportation alternatives to the residents of Middle Tennessee. These transportation choices include the RTA Music City Star Regional Rail, as well as carpools, vanpools and commuter buses. In order to provide these services, we rely on a broad range of contractors and suppliers who work with us through the procurement process. All requested procurements for RTA will be advertised in appropriate print media as well as on this website.
RTA is a recipient agency of the Federal Transit Administration (FTA), and as such our procurement process requires that a portion of our business be conducted with Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (DBEs). To qualify as a DBE, a firm must be owned, operated and controlled by a “socially and economically disadvantaged” individual and will need to submit documentation as such through the State of Tennessee. Refer to the DBE Goal Information section below for additional information about RTA’s DBE Goals.
