RTA Bus Fares and Policies (effective September 26, 2016)

Purchasing Tickets & Passes
Regular fare tickets can be purchased on all buses using cash (exact change required). You can purchase 20-Ride Express Bus passes at Music City Central (400 Charlotte Ave.) from 6 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, using exact cash, check, mobility check or money order. You also can purchase 20-Ride Express Bus passes online at the Nashville MTA website. Regional bus service operates weekdays only. RTA buses do not operate on the following holidays: New Year's Day, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving or Christmas.
Regional bus routes will not change due to weather. However, bad weather may delay or cancel service. For additional information, call RTA at (615) 862-8833.

Only service animals are permitted onboard.
Passengers with Disabilities
If the regional bus routes do not meet your needs, there may be other options. Call the RIDE program at (615) 862-8833 to find out if there is a potential carpool or vanpool for your trip.
Emergency Ride Home
Are you a regular regional bus rider? Join the Emergency Ride Home program. You'll get a free ride home in case of an emergency, illness, or unexpected overtime (maximum six trips per year).
Connecting to MTA Buses – Proximity Card
If you ride any of our RTA services to downtown Nashville and find that you need to transfer to a Nashville MTA bus in order to complete your commute to work or school, you will need a proximity card. This card will allow you to finalize your commute by utilizing Nashville MTA buses at no charge. A card is not needed if you are transferring to the Route 93 Music City Star West End Shuttle or any of the Music City Circuit buses. The proximity card should only be used for your morning and afternoon commutes. If the card is misused for any reason, it can be revoked.
